SoundBrowse Privacy Notice
Last updated: September 4, 2026
The short version: SoundBrowse does not collect anything about you.
- No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for.
- No telemetry or analytics. The app does not report usage, crashes, file names, or anything else to the author or to anyone.
- Local storage only. Your Places, preferences, ratings, the ratings backup, and the BPM analysis cache live in the app's local data folder on your computer. Delete the app and that folder to remove them.
- One optional network request. On launch, the app asks GitHub once for the latest release version so it can show a small "new version" badge. This request goes to api.github.com and carries no personal data beyond what any web request includes (your IP address, seen by GitHub under its own privacy policy). Turn it off in Preferences under Updates.
- Your audio files stay where they are. The app reads them to index names, read embedded metadata, analyze tempo, and play previews. It never copies or uploads them.
If this notice changes, the date above changes with it.
