SoundBrowse License Agreement

SoundBrowse is made by George Trammell ("the author"). By downloading or using SoundBrowse ("the app") you agree to the terms below. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. License

The author grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the app on computers you own or control, for any purpose, including commercial music production. The app is currently free of charge. The author may offer paid versions or optional paid features in the future; this agreement will be updated if that happens, and versions you have already installed remain covered by the terms they shipped with.

2. What you may not do

You may not sell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the app itself, or represent it as your own work. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the app except where applicable law expressly permits it. You may share the download link (soundbrowse.app) freely.

3. Your files

The app reads the audio folders you add to it, renames folders only when you ask it to, and stores its own settings and ratings locally on your computer. It does not copy, upload, or modify your audio files. See the Privacy Notice for details.

4. Third-party components

The app includes open-source components (Electron, Chromium, Node.js, Signalsmith Stretch, and others). Their licenses are listed in the third-party notices and apply to those components.

5. No warranty

The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Back up your sample library; the app renames folders on disk when you use its rename feature.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the author is not liable for any damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the app, including lost files, lost profits, or data loss, even if advised of the possibility.

7. Termination

This license ends automatically if you breach these terms. You may end it at any time by deleting the app.
